The Association of British Insurers (ABI) guidelines require all final exit doors to be fitted with a lock which conforms to BS3621 and is marked with the BS Kite mark. This can either be a 5 lever mortice lock, a cylinder mortice lock or a rim nightlatch. Additional security can also be added to any door my means of mortice bolts or surface mounted bolts, door reinforcers, frame guards, hinge bolts and hinge protectors. Pairs of doors require at least one door securing at the top and bottom with key operated bolts. We can also supply and fit any other door furniture you require, including: letter boxes, letter plates, letter box locks and security cowls to prevent keys being fished out through the letter box, door knockers, door viewers (spy holes), door handles, door pulls, finger plates, door numbers, hinges, escutcheons, door closers and window locks.
If you live in a property where there is only one external door, i.e flats and small houses, you will need a mortice lock which conforms to BS8621 to meet insurance specifications and fire regulations.
We can also make adjustments to dropped or swollen doors, or where necessary we can replace worn out hinges.
